Once heard, never forgotten! If you’ve heard Barulho’s infectious rhythms and want to give it a try, we run ‘open sessions’ every couple of months in Brighton for wannabe sambistas. No previous experience is needed - just a sense of rhythm and the ability to pick things up quickly. The date of our next Open Sessions open session is Thursday 26th June.
What’s involved?
- Register by email at least one week before session, giving name, mobile number and date you are booking, to
- Instruments provided.
- Suitable earplugs must be worn (available 50p on the night).
- Minimum age restriction of 8 years applies.
- £5 a session, payable on the night.
- Session is 7-9pm (please come early in order to book in).
- Play in central Brighton (details confirmed after registration).
Want to join Barulho?
Occasionally we take new members into the band through our open sessions if you have just what we’re looking for. You start on a ‘probationary’ period and then you could be joining us for gigs. We ask for a commitment to weekly rehearsals each Thursday evening, play gigs and, where possible, help with the running of the band.
