Want to join Barulho?

Occasionally we take new members into the band through our open sessions if you have just what we’re looking for. You start on a ‘probationary’ period and then you could be joining us for gigs. We ask for a commitment to weekly rehearsals each Thursday evening, play gigs and, where possible, help with the running of the band.

  • “Another great performance from Barulho in the West End Festival opening parade and samba showcase. Thanks very much to all the boys and girls of Barulho for a very professional show - we hope you'll be back for many a year!”

Michael Dale, Festival Director, Glasgow's West End Festival
  • “100% Brighton. No matter what your expectations Barulho always go one better! Innovative grooves made for dancing, and costumes you wish you'd thought of.”

Doug Summers, SambaYaBamba and Bêbado, Glasgow
  • “Your performance at the County Cricket ground in Hove during the Twenty20 match certainly brought plenty of colour and noise to the occasion. You helped create the atmosphere of a summer carnival procession - ideal for night time floodlit cricket in the height of summer.”
