About Us

Barulho is headed up by Pat Power, percussionist, composer and one of the most respected innovators on the UK Samba scene. His extensive knowledge of traditional Afro-Caribbean styles mixed with cutting edge beats lead to our innovative and seductive Samba sound.

Over the last 10 years we have played festivals, street parties, parades, weddings, and club nights. These include Brighton’s Carnivalesque club, Meadowlands Festival, Brighton Fringe, Gay Pride and Wroclaw Non Stop Festival in Poland and BBC Springwatch.

Barulho perform each year at the Lewes Bonfire Parade, Brighton’s Burning of the Clocks and Brighton’s Children’s Parade. See our latest gigs.

We support charities and have fundraised for Martlets Hospice, The Haiti Earthquake Appeal, Tsunami Appeal, Adventure Unlimited Funday Sunday, Run for life and Sports Relief. Book us for your fundraising event (add link)

Barulho are available to hire for any occasion – be it a high profile corporate event or a village fete.
